  sad ignorant small town "good ol boy" hiring the local boys to run the town, very crooked,i have witnessed the dealings of the police here over the last few years and even though i am not from here and have lived here for only a few years i am well aware of the shear extent of dirty cops at the basis of the community...my wife and i are moving because its uncomfortable too live around so many crooked police and city officials... the dalles= high school friend cops working for the judges who OWN the jail(norcor) feeding off a small population while covering up thier own illegal dealings....very crooked indeed... sad drive through the town yourself and i would bet money you would see at least three NEW 2012 chargers decked out being driven by high school buddy cops when the small city of the dalles cant even afford extra curricular for the children... as an outsider moving here living all over the us and abroad i can tell you (the dalles)..you need to wise up when it comes too the "public servant" issue.... YOU PAY THIER WAGES....HENCE "PUBLIC SERVANT" .. its sad that a nice area has to be destroyed by the local government policing its people.

  Worst police force in the nation. If a cop is dirty then they send them here. Every cop in town dries a brand new dodge charger when we had to close down onenof the high schools and force every high school age kid to cram into a single school. I grew up here and when to school here. Every year this town gets worse and worse. I remember when you never herd about someone getting shot but now its seems every week someone getting shot. It used to be the dales was called the dirty because of the meth problem. Now its because of the cops. I've personally been assaulted by 6of the cops in town for a bogus reason.

  I moved here from Los Angeles and as far as Police officers goes I have had no problems. I have been pulled over a few times but with understanding I am much faster then they are and untouchable. I grew up in city that is 20 times bigger then this one so I know mutual understanding builds relationships no perfect system but as long as that mutual understanding is there no problems will follow. Of course the locals never like their own creation so that's no surprise there.

  The town of The Dalles and Wasco County have under gone many changes in the last election cycle and we can only hope things improve. Lived in The Dalles and surrounding area for almost twenty years before moving away.
